DIVA

Now available: The DIVA Mobile spectral camera

Introducting the DIVA MSc

The DIVA mobile spectral camera is a portable, compact instrument that was specifically developed to provide a cost-effective solution for on-site inspection and documentation of cultural heritage objects.

DIVA is the ideal system for conservators who want to add modern digital spectral imaging to their tool box of non-destructive diagnostic techniques. The standard configuration of DIVA provides high-quality images at the most essential spectral bands. The system can be extended in several steps to provide more spectral bands and allow handheld use with an attachable halogen light source and battery-powered operation. The compact DIVA camera makes it easy to explore objects quickly on-site and screen collections for retouches and underdrawings without having to move each object first to the laboratory. In a battery-powered configuration the user is relieved from the hassle of running cables to the nearest mains power outlet and the system can be used in difficult-to-access places such as in ancient buildings or at field locations.

The wide range of available options and accessories and the full compatibility with our CPS camera positioning and our illumination systems allows the system’s capabilities to grow with every new application.

DIVA provides also very interesting options for owners of an ARTIST Multispectral Camera system. DIVA can be used as a secondary system to meet the growing demand for spectral imaging within the institution especially if this demand arises from particular projects that require screening of objects on very specific spectral bands. Requiring even less luggage space than the ARTIST, DIVA is ideally suited for out-of-town jobs and short-term research visits.
