Course spectral imaging of documents
Early Announcement: The European Research Centre for Book and Paper Conservation-Restoration based in Horn, Austria, offers a course on the application of spectral imaging to the study and monitoring of historical documents. The 4-day course will provide an introduction to the theory and concepts of spectral imaging instruments and analysis techniques and discuss the different applications on archival documents. The participants will obtain hands-on experience with setting-up and calibrating spectral imaging systems and analyzing and interpreting the measurement data.
The instructors of the course are Roberto Padoan, who works as paper conservator and principal researcher on the Hyperspectral Imaging project of the Nationaal Archief (National Archives of the Netherlands, The Hague), and dr. Marvin E. Klein, who works as applied research engineer for Art Innovation.
The course will take place at the seat of the European Research Centre in Horn, Austria, and it is scheduled for May 2013. For more information on this course, please follow this link.
